Recently, after lots and lots of hard work and organisation, the audiovisual project ‘OPEN’ - (Longboard Girls Crew Skates Israel) - was finally put into motion. I, along with 13 other female riders from around the world travelled to Israel to film a feature length movie about next level female skating and the lifestyle of the amazing experiences we had traveling through the exotic land of Israel and skating everything from city streets & rooftops to endless roads in the desert.
The riders involved are:
Katie Nielson, Amanda Powell, Marisa Nuñez, Cindy Zhou, Ishtar Bäcklund, Cami Best, Jenna Russo, Eider Walls,Cristina Mandarina, Michaela Wilson, Gador Salis, Gina Mendez, Jacky Madenfrost &Valeria Kechichian
Trust me when i say you guys want to see this movie happen.
We had an amazing film crew and so fortunate to have Daniel Etura as the director for this film, a Venezuelan filmmaker and skater based in Madrid, recently nominated for a Latin Grammy.
A lot of the costs were covered by our sponsors and we are very grateful for their contributions, but there are still post-production costs that need to be covered to make this movie even better.
This is where we need you! Please head over to our Indigogo Campaign here and contribute to this amazing project. For every donation we will give you something back for your support! check the campaign for all the perks and other information!

Hey! Thats awesome, thankyou!
I hope you’re getting as much stoke out of skating as i do!
Its cool that you’re keeping up with the LGC OPEN project, I’m excited to see it too - the trailer is coming out this week! :)
Finding a board thats right is a bit about trial and error. you want something that you feel comfortable on, especially just starting out. The Baby Killer, topmount or dropthrough is a pretty good board to get into things, the only thing is that it has W concave, and that can either be something you love, because it locks you in, or something you hate haha. im not a huge fan of W when it comes to downhill, but everyones different.
id recommend if you’re just starting out, get something thats not super expensive, try out a bunch of boards and save up for a really nice setup once you know what you want.
feel free to come off anon and ill help you out in choosing a set up that would suit you really well!
Hey, thanks so much!
It was the most amazing experience!
If you’re completely new to skating, I’d recommend looking for a setup that is not too expensive so that you can find out what kind of board you like before you invest hundreds of dollars in a setup.
As for equipment, you’ll want a complete board & helmet, and as you work up to it you will want some slide gloves and maybe some knee/elbow pads.
I’d be more than happy to help you get something thats right for you, message me off anon and i can help you choose something that will suit your style !
Touched down in Tel Aviv, Israel. The adventure has begun.
